Provided you see us at our recommended interval for dental health maintenance, and do your homework to prevent problems as we instruct and advise, we guarantee all of our crowns for at least five (5) years, and all fillings for two (2) years, unless you have exposed them to unusual things, such as sand in a salad or clam, holding a metal object in your mouth, biting on fishing line, a piece of bone in a hotdog, walnut shell in a cookie, crunching ice or hard candy, and the like, any of which could break a normal, unfilled tooth. Porcelain crowns are glass and as such can crack like glass, or like enamel, if over-stressed. Also, a filling can come out because more tooth structure has broken away, which is not the fault of the filling but due to the weakness of the tooth and excessive pressure. We will always help to reduce costs where we can, and we will always do the best we can to reduce the risk of spending more in the future. We expect our treatment to last much longer than our guarantee. No dental care can be guaranteed against the abuse teeth are exposed to life-long. Dentists cannot regulate how teeth will be used or what they are exposed to (ice, jaw breakers, hard candy, taffy, beef jerky), and we cannot monitor daily flossing and brushing habits, make people return for the recommended preventive visits, or control bacterial invasion.
